Detailed Description
This unique two-hour tour of Jacksonville, the "River City" will highlight the defining sites of its history and cultural downtown locations. Commencing at the waterfront Jacksonville Landing, our guide will trace the city's roots to its origin as "Cowford".
Learn of the Timuquan Indians, the area's first inhabitants and French and Spanish colonization 55 years before the Pilgrims landed in the New World. The historic neighborhood of San Marco will give the visitor a view of beautiful homes along River Road and its shopping district will be our location for lunch. Modern points of interest include the Jacksonville Veteran's Memorial Wall in downtown Jacksonville. This Memorial Wall is unique in that it lists the veterans of Duval County that have died during wartime service by the high schools in which they attended.
Lunch will be at Jacksonville’s Premier Riverfront Restaurant, River City Brewing Company. Overlooking the Jacksonville skyline and the St. John’s River, this restaurant offers delectable cuisine and an on-site microbrewery.
The Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tour features an open-air gallery overlooking the floor of the Brew Hall, which offers an excellent step-by-step look at the all-Natural Budweiser brewing process. You will marvel at the speed and efficiency of the bottling and canning operations. Midway through the tour, relax in the Hospitality Room over complimentary tastings of the popular beers.
